Mission
Sunrise Pine provides a safe and supportive environment that nurtures learning, creativity, and critical thinking. Because we are a small community, we can closely support the academic and emotional needs of every single student. Families have direct access to academic advising, emotional support, technology help, and records services to ensure each learner truly thrives.
Academic and Personal Advising
What we offer Instead of sending you to a generic counseling department, our teaching team provide direct academic advising. We help students with course selection, study strategies, and time management. We also closely monitor student progress. If a student falls behind or experiences test anxiety, we immediately step in to help them build a plan for success. We also provide direct support and research assistance for older students preparing for college applications.
Parent involvement Parents are always welcome to join our advising meetings. Students may also request private one on one time with our staff. We will share general updates with parents while respecting the student’s need for reasonable privacy as they grow.
Privacy boundaries Our advising is designed to provide school based support. It is not clinical therapy. Conversations are treated confidentially within the school context. However, if safety concerns ever arise regarding abuse, neglect, or a risk of harm, the school follows strict mandatory reporting laws to ensure the student is protected.
Emotional Support and Well Being
What we offer We provide short term support for topics like motivation, stress, school anxiety, peer challenges, and study habits. We also offer skills coaching for organization and goal setting during high stress periods like final exams.
While we are deeply committed to your child’s well being, our school support does not replace professional medical or mental health treatment. When a student’s needs exceed our scope, we gladly help families find licensed community providers and work together to coordinate support.
If a student may be at risk of harm to themselves or others, we will notify parents and follow crisis protocols immediately. For true medical or safety emergencies, families should always call 911 first.
