Mission
Sunrise Pine provides a safe, supportive environment that nurtures learning, creativity, and critical thinking. Students and families can access academic advising, social‑emotional support, library resources, technology help, and records services to ensure each learner thrives.
Academic Counseling and Advising
What we offer:
- Academic advising: Course selection and sequencing; study strategies; pacing and time‑management support; monitoring of progress and intervention planning.
- Problem‑solving: Support for academic difficulties (e.g., falling behind, test anxiety, executive‑function challenges) and referrals to additional resources when needed.
Parent/guardian involvement: For minors, parents/guardians are welcome in advising meetings. Students may also request 1:1 time; the advisor will share general updates with parents while respecting the student’s reasonable privacy and developmental needs.
Privacy: Advising is school‑based support, not clinical therapy. Conversations are treated confidentially within the school context and may be shared with relevant staff to support learning and safety. If safety concerns arise (risk of harm, abuse, neglect), the school follows mandatory‑reporting laws and safety procedures.
Social‑Emotional Learning (SEL) and Counseling Support
What we offer:
- Short‑term, school‑based counseling for topics such as motivation, stress, school anxiety, peer challenges, and study habits.
- Skills coaching (organization, goal setting, test preparation) and check‑ins during high‑stress periods (exams, transitions).
School counseling does not replace medical or mental‑health treatment. When needs exceed school scope, we provide referrals to licensed community providers and work with families to coordinate support.
If a student may be at risk of harm to self or others—or discloses abuse or neglect—the counselor notifies parents/guardians (when appropriate) and follows mandatory‑reporting and crisis protocols immediately. For emergencies, call 911 first.
Library and Resource Center (Digital)
Students have 24/7 access to course materials, assigned readings, and the school’s digital resource center through the LMS.
What’s included
- eBooks and articles: Curated reading lists per course and unit.
- Research tools: Databases, encyclopedias, dictionaries, glossaries, and citation guides (APA).
- Skill mini‑lessons: Short videos on research strategies, evaluating sources, safe searching, and citation.
Student Records and Transcripts
The school maintains accurate academic records for each student. Parents/guardians (of minors) and eligible students may request to review their education records and seek corrections consistent with applicable privacy laws.
Transcripts:
- Unofficial transcripts are available upon request to the school.
- Official transcripts (sealed or electronic) can be sent to colleges, schools, or scholarship programs when requested by the parent/guardian or eligible student.
- How to request: Submit the Transcript Request to email admission@sunrisepine.com. Please allow 5–10 business days for processing (expedited requests may be accommodated when possible).
Privacy and consent
The school follows applicable student‑privacy requirements. We share records only with authorized parties or with parent/eligible‑student consent, except as permitted by law (e.g., transfers to another school, health/safety emergencies, or audit/accountability purposes).
